Each individual patch of Floyd's Grass was mapped by manually walking the perimeter with a hand held GPS recording the tracklog/boundary of each patch. Numerous local experts and sources were contacted for knowledge of distribution with each site locality advice explored. All other publicly accessible lands that indicated distribution were also investigated on foot. The dataset is very accurate and thorough up to all local knowledge of distribution. Spatial accuracy will vary in accordance with GPS quality. The boundaries were captured with a HP iPAQ handheld PC with a SirfStar III compact flash GPS card. Differential GPS was NOT used so accuracy is estimated between 10cm to 3 metres. |
