Abstract |
Alpine and subalpine areas were mapped by Dane Wimbush in 1966. A map entitled "Kosciusko Primitive Area : Vegetation and associated features" was produced from this mapping by CSIRO Division of Plant Industry in 1972. The mapping covers the alpine area of Kosciusko National Park (Upper Snowy and Geehi River Catchments). VIS_ID 4842 |

Alpine and subalpine areas were mapped by Dane Wimbush in 1966. A map was produced from this mapping by CSIRO in 1972. This map was digitised into ERMS. The original digitising had some problems due to only lat longs being on the original map, but these were later fixed. Some considerable amount of editing went into this dataset to ensure it is correct and accurate. While the original mapping of vegetation is extremely accurate the end result may not be extremely reliable. This is because the original map scale is an imperial measure (31,680) and had to be manipulated to fit Australian Map Grid co-ordinates. |
