The majority of lands included in this dataset are acquired by the NSW NPWS but not yet gazetted as formal reserve. This dataset is known internally as NPWS Acquired Not Gazetted.

Lineage

Updates are made on the occurrence of the acquisition of land. These are documented on a plan or a map by the Reserve Establishment and Land Information Section, NPWS. The Reserve Establishment and Land Information Section captures the boundaries from the Digital Cadastral Database or digitises from these plans. The source maps used are of the best available scales of 1:4 000, 1:10 000, 1:25 000, 1:50 000 or 1:100 000.

All linework is being progressively checked by the Reserve Establishment and Land Information Section. This is detailed in the 'checkdate' field. Linework which has been captured from the Digital Cadastral Database is also detailed in the 'linework' field. The positional accuracy of all other linework is dependent upon the scale of the source maps.
