NSW Joint Private Works Schemes-Private Water Corporations |
Abstract |
The mapped boundaries of Private Water Corporations within the State of NSW and the parcels within them are described. Private Water Corporations are former private irrigation districts and private drainage boards and unions. In the first half of 2024 the boundaries of the Private Water Corporations were mapped by NSW Public Works within a single spatial (GIS) dataset using a reference NSW cadastre from February 2024 and a datum of GDA2020. The Private Water Corporations boundaries were mapped using the following methods in descending order:
The list of Private Water Corporations and the references to gazettal notices was provided by the Water Group, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, NSW Government. Note: If you would like to ask a question, make any suggestions, or tell us how you are using this dataset, please visit the NSW Water Hub which has an online forum you can join. |

GIS Data.zip |
Name: GIS Data.zip Protocol: WWW:DOWNLOAD-1.0-http--download Description: The mapped boundaries of PRIVATE WATER CORPORATIONS are mapped as polygons that can contain multiple parts and holes. Within a Geographic Information System (GIS) a multipart polygon means a single record or feature that is mapped by more than 1 discrete polygons. At creation all Private Works Corporations were described with a single perimeter and contiguous parcels with or without holes. However, amendments to Corporations can split a Corporations into multiple parts and Corporations described of a schedule of parcels may result in small corridors between parcels. Furthermore, the transition of water supply methods from channels to pipes has the implication of supply to discrete properties. Function: download |
