Lineage

Updates are made on the occurrence of the gazettal of new reserves or additions to reserves. These are documented on a plan or a map by the Reserve Establishment & Land Information Section, NPWS. The Reserve Establishment & Land Information Section captures the reserve boundaries from the Digital Cadastral Database or digitises from these plans. The source maps used are of the best available scales of 1:4 000, 1:10 000, 1:25 000, 1:50 000 or 1:100 000.

All linework is being progressively checked by the Reserve Establishment & Land Information Section. This is detailed in the 'checkdate' field in a separate database. Linework which has been captured from the Digital Cadastral Database is also detailed in the 'linework' field in a separate database. The positional accuracy of all other linework is dependent upon the scale of the source maps.
