Abstract |
The vegetation of Ledknapper NR is described and mapped. Seven communities are defined based on classification (Kulczynski association) with further sub-assemblages described. These seven communities were mapped based on ground truthing, air photo interpretation and soil. Most communities are of open woodland, shrubland or grassland structure. The vegetation of Ledknapper NR is described and mapped. Seven communities are defined based on classification (Kulczynski association) with further sub-assemblages described. These seven communities were mapped based on ground truthing, air photo interpretation and soil. Most communities are of open woodland, shrubland or grassland structure.Vegetation polygons derived from aerial photos and statistical analysis of 40 stratified survey sites. Photo patterns were initially delineated from 1:50 000 scale aerial photographs based on statistical analysis of sites. The images were interpreted stereoscopically for patterns of vegetation and geomorphology, to provide a spatial resolution of the vegetation communities derived from numerical analysis. Groups resulting from the analyses were mapped. Assignment of floristic groups to remote-sensing map units based on plot intersection frequencies. |
