Abstract |
This layer contains digital vegetation mapping of the vegetation communities of the western Blue Mountains, NSW, specifically in the Capertee Valley, Coxs Valley-Newnes Plateau and Jenolan-Gurnang areas. Derived from Aerial Photographic Interpretation with communities defined using survey and statistical analysis The layer includes the boundaries of vegetation communities and lists attributes including vegetation community, structure and disturbance as described in the report: DEC (2006) The Vegetation of the Western Blue Mountains. Unpublished report funded by the Hawkesbury andndash; Nepean Catchment Management Authority. Department of Environment and Conservation, Hurstville. VIS ID 2231 ANZNS0208000235 DEC (2006) The Vegetation of the Western Blue Mountains. Unpublished report funded by the Hawkesbury andndash; Nepean Catchment Management Authority. Department of Environment and Conservation, Hurstville. |

DQ Completeness Commission |
|
Effective date |
2009-01-10 |
Explanation |
The dataset is complete for the mapped area. 1 hectare minimum polygon size, polygons were interpreted to less than one hectare at the interpreters discretion (ie. for special features, eg. Rainforest). |
DQ Completeness Omission |
|
Effective date |
2009-01-10 |
DQ Conceptual Consistency |
|
Explanation |
The GIS package (ArcInfo) was used to do topological consistency check to detect flaws in the spatial data structure and to flag them as errors. This check insures that all classified polygons are closed, nodes are formed at the intersection of lines and that there is only one label within each polygon. |
DQ Topological Consistency |
|
Explanation |
Checked for missing attributes All attributes were checked |
DQ Absolute External Positional Accuracy |
|
Explanation |
Precision: 10m to 100m Determination: Deductive estimate. Ad-hoc comparisons with 1:25,000 layer data and various sorts of imagery indicated good correlation in terms of shape and size but with errors of the order indicated above in terms of position. |
DQ Non Quantitative Attribute Correctness |
|
Explanation |
Attributes of the dataset include vegetation community, structure and disturbance. Vegetation community is determined by aerial photograph interpretation and statistical analysis of quantitative plots with post mapping fieldwork to check communities, accuracy for each of the attributes is estimated to be high. |
