Abstract |
The Vegetation Survey of Lane Cove National Park was carried out in 2001 to investigate the native flora within Lane Cove National Park and the selected adjacent bushland areas inclusive of Pennant Hills Park. Data collected in the course of this study allowed the National Parks and Wildlife Service to initiate a strategic planning approach to bushland management in the Lane Cove River catchment and ultimately to more effectively allocate resources for bushland rehabilitation and site maintenance works. Lineage |
Vegetation communities across the study area were mapped in conjunction with the field survey program. Communities were mapped from air photo interpretation as a line drawing overlay on a magnified 1:10 000 scale air photo enlargement of the entire study area (NSW series 4457, 21.10.1998) provided to the project team by the Service. This was assisted by stereoscopic air photo interpretation using 1:25 000 scale stereo pair contact prints (NSW series 4453, 29.09.98), also provided by the Service. |
