Abstract |
The Warialda CCA Zone 1 National Park and CCA Zone 3 State Conservation Area vegetation mapping was undertaken by Dr John T. Hunter in 2012 by contract for the NPWS Northern Tableland Region. The Warialda NP and State Conservation Area are located south of the township of Warialda. This vegetation map is in addition to the Stonehedge section which was mapped in 2009. The vegetation of Warialda North (SCA) and South (NP) is described and mapped (scale 1:25 000) based on SPOT imagery. Nine communities are defined based on classification (Kulczynski association). The requirements of the investigation were: 1. Collate existing information from previous vegetation surveys conducted within the conservation areas. 2. Site placement to be based on selected environmental variables and be distributed based on the area they occupy. 3. Identify weed species and their occurrence. 4. Identify RoTAP, EPB&C Act and TSC Act species and their occurrence. 5. Construction of a vegetation map based on communities as defined by classification and ordination analyses. 6. Provide management recommendations. |
