Native Vegetation Map of Gundagai Shire. VIS_ID 3957

Current or extant distribution of native vegetation in Gundagai Shire. The mapping project involved initial stratification of the shire into units based on broad geological types, average annual temperature and average annual rainfall. Different environmental units were sampled by a vegetation plot survey. These surveys recorded all vascular plant species (ie herbs, grasses, forbs, shrubs, trees and ferns) and their abundance within over 200 plots, each with an area of 400m2 (ie 20m x 20m).
