Sydney Water provides safe drinking water to almost five million people across Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra. They also look after wastewater and some stormwater services to help protect the health of our rivers and beaches.

Sydney Water is a statutory State Owned Corporation, wholly owned by the New South Wales Government, operating under the Sydney Water Act 1994. They have three equal principal objectives, to:

• protect public health

• protect the environment

• be a successful business
